#tttc024 & SUO Challenge #188 Christmas in the Making

I was inspired by two challenges today.

And a Challenge I have not ever played along with before.
                                                  SUO Challenges
SUO Challenge #188~Celebrate Winter Holidays
So with this card I used Stampin Up's Christmas in the making.   For the tic tac toe challenge I chose the left column down.  My angled approach is the embossed background,  I posted two pictures because you can see the shadow much better on the bottom card.  The Die cut is the squares that hold the sentiment which also is my "greeting"    I fussy cut out the Little Lady mailing her Christmas cards after I colored her with markers, water colored pencils and my aqua brush.  I then made a pile of snow for her to stand on, and so I have glitter absolutely everywhere now.  I thought what better way to "celebrate the winter Holidays" then by sending greeting cards.  Because after all we are stampers and that's what we do.  Oh one little oops on the card.. I don't know if I should tell ya, because after you see it.  I promise it will stick out like a sore thumb.
I forgot to add snow around the mailbox post.  UGH!!!!    And being the clock is ticking and I'm running short on time for the one challenge I'll submit it any ways.  See how noticeable it is now that I told you.

SSC166 ALL LINED UP ~Merry MIce

First up : We have a new blog follower that joined the family. Image result for minion thank you
That makes my day.๐Ÿ™‹  I appreciate the support.๐Ÿ’œ
Onto the card.  This one I made for the challenge at:
I used my Merry Mice from stampin up to create this card.  I had to stamp the image and then after coloring there was quite a bit of fussy cutting,  but I wanted to make sure each little mouse had his own square.  I put the sentiment below the squares as to not take away from the cute images.     I also embossed the background and added a bit of silver twine to give it some sparkle, which I followed through with the silver foil paper behind the sentiment. How ironic that after working on my mouse card today, I look out my living room window to see this gorgeous hawk looking in at me.. perhaps he saw my mice, and got a little hungry. ๐Ÿ˜‰

FUSION - Grateful~Wondrous Wreath & SCS

I needed to make a thank you card for my parents, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to  also play along with Fusion Card Challenge

I used both the sketch and the photo for my inspiration for this particular card.  I pulled out my wondrous wreath image from stampin up.   It it a 3 step process but it turned out fabulous.  I really like the fall colors, with the hint of gold washi tape which accented the gold pearl in the middle of the bow.    I also embossed the bottom half of the card with leaves. Being that's it my SCS(Scripture Card Sunday)  I wanted to make sure to add a verse, so I put it on the inside of the card.
Well I'm off to make more wedding invites.  I can't wait to show you all how they have turned out.  I even had to change my cutting blade because of all the trimming and such.  I think they are so pretty.   Make sure to stop back in the next few days, and I should have them posted.
Thank you for stopping by for a visit.

#tgifc134 ~Painted Harvest

I made this card for my son's girlfriend, so she could give it to her mom for thanksgiving.  I used my stampin up set called painted harvest.  I found this little charm in my stash and thought it was lovely for the card.  I put it on a brown piece of elastic like twine so she can clip it off and add it to a bracelet or necklace.  I think it might be a lily flower which symbolizes  humility and devotion. (I looked it up)  I tried to take a super close up so we could see it better.  I'm going to submit this card to the challenge at: TGIF Challenges
I invite you to look around my blog, and ask that you would sign up to follow me.  Thanks so much.

FMS313~Holly Berry Happiness & Seasonal Bells

I LOVE making Christmas cards.  This one I made for the challenge at:
I used stampin up's Holly Berry Happiness for the ivy leaves and bow  (the best little bow ever). Along with Seasonal bells.  I love the song silver bells. So I decided to emboss them with a silver sparkle. I  took a picture with the flash so you can see how they really shine.
The top picture is so dark it makes the background paper almost look like it's black, but it's a deep sparkle green which can be seen much better in the bottom picture.
Thanks for visiting today.

#GDP113 & PCC268 Painted Harvest Birthday

Well this is an interesting card.  My gosh I don't know what I was thinking.  Perhaps "bouquet"  You know how they stick green fillers in there, well that's what I did here by adding the pine.    I wanted to play with this new to me stamp set  called Painted Harvest.   So I  thought why not give it a try with these two challenges.
I tried using the pool party for the petals on the flower, but it didn't "pop" in color so I used it in the center instead.  I Never would have thought of  using Cherry cobbler as a color for the flower but it's not to shabby, and sort of "fall" like.   I probably should have made a Christmas card with these colors, I do my best work with Christmas for some reason.  That lovely scroll image is an older stamp set from close to my heart.  I love to use it when I need a narrow  border image. It stamps nicely in any color.   The sentiment is long script from Lawn Fawn.
Thanks So much for visiting.

Challenge #249 - Sketch~ Alpaca

Well, I started off the day again with a couple different cards.  This one here I made for the challenge at: CAS Colours & Sketches
I wish I had a cute die to make those lovely wavy lines, but atlas I do not.  So I had to improvise a bit.  I hope my straight lines are not to sharp for the challenge.  I knew I was going to stamp this adorable little alpaca, so I wanted to stick with something that would represent sweaters/scarves, hence the middle image.  I tried stamping it 3x but it was a bit to much, so I brought in the washi tape... It worked swell for keeping it simple.  I colored in Mr. A and the little heart, and I stamped the sentiments.  I think it's so funny.  "Alpaca my Scarf"  Indeed you should here in WI.
Thanks so much for visiting me today.  I hope you will take a moment and look around and perhaps even sign up to follow my blog.  That would be greatly appreciated.

HSS Sketch Challenge #277~ Festival of Trees

I just had to play along one more time with Hand Stamped Sentiments
When I first saw this sketch I immediately thought of Stampin Up's Festival of trees๐ŸŽ„.  So folks here it is.  I used  that set along with Holly Berry Happiness to create this card. A bit of washi tape for the trim and the lovely stamped bow with a pearl.  Now I had this all nicely embossed and then got the idea to die cut out the two layers to put my sentiment behind and not on top.  Well it smashed the lovely cable knit texture down, and then I realized I used the bigger oval. Oh the struggles of this stamper.  Any ways it's my best shot with the big shot.๐Ÿ˜‰
I also included a picture of what I've been working on this morning.  Do you have any clue what it will be?  There is a subtle hint in the picture.
Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to stop by for a visit.

Tuesday Morning Sketches #429~Christmas in the Making

I can't believe it is here. My most highly anticipated stamp set arrived last night.   Stampin up's Christmas in the Making.  As soon as I saw the holiday catalog this is the one I wanted to order immediately.  Well you know how it goes, the wish list grows and the budget shrinks.. so I had to wait for the green light from hubby, and gosh I just love this darling little 5 piece set.   I think it is because  I really have a deep appreciation for nostalgic things,  just makes a person happy, hence my black and white movie station.   It seems like times were sweeter, perhaps not easier, as my Grandma (94) would say.   Any ways,  that why I love card making too, it's a lost art, of course not among us.. we all love to make cards, but there's a big world out there and nobody makes homemade things nearly as much as they use too.
Well that was a long winded opening to share how much I enjoy a stamp set.   So I'll just keep it quick here.   A little bit of stamping coloring, and cutting out, is what it took to make this cute card.  I added a few little embellishments in the upper right hand corner to make it sparkle.  A few pop dots behind the young lady, and some ruffles on the horizontal strip.  I shared both pictures, one with a flash and one with lights on it so you could see the glimmer paper. I'm so happy to be able to submit this card to the challenge at: Tuesday Morning Sketches

Thank you for stopping by for a visit.
One more exciting note.  I sold 3 cards on my Etsy shop.  Gosh that is super swell, I'm so happy about it.   Thank you๐Ÿ’—

HSS Sketch Challenge #277~Hearts Come Home

I am so excited to play along with Hand Stamped Sentiments

I knew exactly which stamp set I was going to use.  Stampin Up's Festival of Trees.  I think it would work lovely with this sketch.   In fact I still might do it.  But folks guess what arrived on my door step about an hour ago.  That's right my order.  So I immediately changed plans because I just had to play with my brand new  set called Hearts come home from stampin up.  I wanted this one and the Christmas in the Making.  I had to be so patient (which is hard for me)  and finally I got the green light from the hubby.  WHOOHOO❕❕  Did you notice the little pearl embellishment by the sentiment?  That is because of a smudge of course.  Just so happy it did the trick.
I'm including a picture of Mr. Squirrel, he was busy today and HP and I love to watch him.   The yard has been unusually quiet lately as far as critters go.  I don't know what is up with that.
It's been a rough day here.  So hoping for a good night's rest and a much better day tomorrow.
Thank you for stopping by.
I'd love to have you follow my blog.
Did you notice my new little tab in the bar above?  I have a few stamp sets that I'm going to try and sell.

CCT21 & Sketch 238 Christmas Candy Cane and Gingerbread House

If you take a quick glance at my second card you will see I went like super "crazy" this morning.  I blame it on a lack of sleep.  I've been up since 2:30am again, so apparently I wasn't thinking, and I just kept stamping and coloring and pasting and painting.   By the time I was done it looked like  Holiday madness on a card.  UGH.. so scratch that card.  onto something a bit more calmer.  Hence the top candy cane card that I will be submitting to the following challenges:

PP370 ~White on White Wondrous Wreath, Carols of Christmas & Merry Tags

Happy Monday to you.  Sometime I remind myself of Bob, on the movie What about Bob?  I get up go to my desk like him. I feel like it's my job to blog, or stamp cards, I say good morning to HP, instead of Gill the fish, and more less punch the time clock card, and begin stamping.   So up first today is this card for the challenge at: The Paper Players
When I first saw this challenge I didn't think there was any way I could pull it off.  But I started thinking of a few options and came up with this lovely card, using a few different products.  I first embossed the background so it looked like a gentle snow falling.  Then I started working on the ornament which is from stampin up:  Merry Tag dies.  I found a few scraps of white sparkle paper in my stash which worked lovely, but being that they didn't match.  I decided to tie a white ribbon on it so it would not be as noticeable.  I had to fold the ribbon in half with sticky tape so it would be a bit smaller for the ornament.  I did the same for the hanging ribbon too.  I cut and layered the ornament 3x.   I then cut out the trees from Stampin up Carols of Christmas. I pop dotted them up. to give them some height.  Next the lovely sentiment.   This was a bit of a challenge for me.  It's from the Wondrous Wreath stampin up set.  To which the bow die is STILL missing. UGH!!  any ways I cut the sentiment 4 times because it didn't want to cut nicely and behave itself, but in the end it was a blessing because I glued them all together, (and my fingers a few times) and it gave it a really nice added dimension.  Love it.
I also just love  the word Noel.  I've thought many times about adding a second middle name to our kids already elaborate names, and for my daughter I've always thought Noel would be nice since she was born at Christmas time.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Addicted to CAS Challenge #124 - Bows~Wrapped in Warmth

I love bows.  I always have, since I was a little girl and use to wear them in my hair.   My beloved Aunt use to wear these blouses that had big loopy bows in the front.  I just think there is something sweet about a bow.  But with that being said I started working on my card for Addicted to CAS
I used my bow builder punch from stampin up and the Wrapped in Warmth set for the sentiment.  I didn't plan on so many layers, but apparently I couldn't stop myself.  Then after all was said and done and of course photo taken.  I'm like my gosh it don't look like a Christmas card, more like a Minnie Mouse card.

Nevertheless I'm just going to submit it.  After all, Minnie is wearing a "bow"  too๐Ÿ˜‰
Thanks so much for stopping by.

CTS #247 & Challenge #267 - Make Your Mark~ Pedal Pusher

I was able to go on an "adventure" with my daughter yesterday.  It's not something that happens frequently because of my situation.   WE had a great time, we started off by going to Michael's for a few more supplies for her wedding. ( I'm making the invites and favor boxes)  Then out of town we went, to a mall.  Oh gosh it wasn't like a day of mall shopping as most would know it.  Instead it was just a mere "walk through"  but it was fun.  I just can't do the long days anymore.  She had not remembered this mall, because she was very young when we lived in Wausau.  It was a good day.
So I used my new purchases:  washi tape and silver sparkle embossing powder on this card.  YAY.  It looks so nice, but let me say the sparkles where not contained to the card alone, good golly the whole house is sparkling now.  even the dog. What a mess I did make.    I used the tandem bike from a stampin up set called Pedal Pusher, because Vanessa and her Fiance love their tandem bike.  They're so cute, they even have one of those old fashion bells for ringing attached to their handle bars.    I used my markers and pencils to color in the small details, and carefully used my aqua brush to smooth it all out.   I didn't want the frame of the bike to pop in color, their bike is an awesome bright green,  but I kept it a simple gray here to match the embossed sentiment and washi tape.
I will submit this card to the following challenges:
Thank you for stopping by.

CTS #247~SCS Banner Blessings

SCS (Scripture Card Sunday) Today.
So hence the verse, but  look how well it worked our for this challenge too at:
I used two stampin up sets.  The star is from Scentsational Season, and  the sentiment/verse is  Banner Blessings.  I kept this card as simple as possible.
Thanks so much for stopping by for a visit.

Week 274: TINY~Happy Everything

Here is my Happy Everything card that I made for the challenge at:  CASology
I submitted one other card  previously that has the little turkey alone on it, but then I got to thinking how cute it would be  for the whole calendar collection  to be in one setting.   So being they are all super tiny stamps I thought it would work lovely for the challenge, perhaps not as much white space as my previous entry but still hopefully enough.   I thought the sentiment was just as fitting for this challenge too.   The most difficult part was coloring all those tiny images in.
Thank you so much for stopping by.

Challenge #96~Snow Much Fun

My next project today is for Time Out Challenges where we are to CAS Michele's Card.
I decided to copy the bright green  in her lovely card.  Hence the forest and hill.  I also chose the angle, although mine is going in the other direction, because I didn't know if the happy little friends on their sled would be able to make it up the hill, and even if they did they might not be "dashing through the snow"  like the sentiment says.๐Ÿ˜‰
I used a set called Snow Much Fun from Avery Elle.  It has the cutest little animals in it.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
I hope ya all are staying warm. It is 9 degrees here. UGH!!
